Swamp Ball
This would be a very fun game for grades 2-8. It is the traditional game of dodgeball with a twist. Students must go stand in the other teams "swamp" if they get hit by a ball. To get out of the swamp, players from their team must throw them a ball and the player in the swamp must catch it. The winning team is the team who gets all of their opponents into their swamp. I think students would really enjoy this game, instead of playing regular dodgeball.
Mat Tag
I really like this game for students grades 2-8. It is very different from most games. Mats are set up like "bases" in a baseball diamond and depending on how many students are in the class, 3-4 are on each mat. 2 students are in the middle of the mats with dodgeballs and the extra students are in between the mats. Students must run from mat to mat in a circle without getting hit by a ball. If a student gets hit, they now become the tagger. Students can only get hit when they are off the mat though, as long as they are on the mat they are safe. I think students would enjoy this game while having fun exercising.
Red Light-Green Light Dribbling
This would be a good game to use to emphasize the skill of dribbling, while having students compete to get to the end of the court. Students line up at one end with the teacher in front of them. When the teacher says "green light", students start dribbling and move down the court, keeping control of their ball. When the teacher says "red light", the students must stop where they are. The students want to try to be the first one to the other end of the court, but must keep control of their ball. This would be a good activity for grades 4-8, so they can improve the skill of dribbling.

Website Reviews
www.merlot.org
This website seemed very useful to me. I think you have to become a member to benefit from most of its material, but once a member it appeared it could be very functional. I really liked the look of the webiste, the layout was very professional but easy to navigate. It had links to browse through different learning activities that teachers could use in their classrooms. I could see me using this website in the future if necessary.

I didn't like this website as soon as it loaded on my computer. It seemed very unprofessional to me. Even when I started looking at it, I wasn't real sure what the purpose of the website was or who would benefit from it. I noticed most of the website was taken up by "Related Searches" which appeared to me to be advertisments. I wouldn't suggest this website to any colleagues that were looking for new sources online. I definitely wouldn't use this website for my own use either.
www.wikipedia.com
Wikipedia is a very known website among computer users. I think it is very user friendly. Its very easy to navigate through, you just type in what you want to look up and it takes you to a page with information pertaining to what you typed in. It is also handy that you can look up information using different languages. This is very helpful for how users from different countries.

Storybook
This was a little project to create a storybook. It could be used in a classroom setting for students of any age, this book would be enjoyed by younger students though. I hope you enjoy! Johnny the Football Player
Educational Philosophy
My Educational Philosophy
I want to show my students that I care for them
as individuals and not just as part of a class. I feel students have a better
learning environment if they feel they can trust their teacher. Also by being
able to feel as if their teacher cares for them more than just the person
sitting in the desk in front of them. I don’t want to let students settle. The
teachers I remember most from my career as a student are the ones who always
pushed me to be the very best I could be. I have to understand that not all
students are “A” students and if a “B” is their very best then that is what we
should strive for. As a teacher, I must understand that each
student learns differently and I must adapt my teaching methods to get the very
best from each student. Some students learn from watching me work problems on
the board and them working it out along with me, while others are able to learn
it better by just working on the problems themselves. I must remember that I
have to mix up my teaching methods to enhance every brain in the classroom. I want to touch people's lives and by being a teacher I feel that is the best way for me to do that. I want to impact my students the way my teachers have. I understand that most of that will come with time but I want to eventually touch the lives of hundreds of kids. I want to be the teacher my students remember most.
About Me
"Work hard, do your best, speak the truth, assume no airs, trust in God, have no fear"- Harry Truman
My
name is Stormi Lancaster and I am from a very small town called Mobeetie,
Texas. Luckily home isn’t too far from here, only about an hour and a half, so
I am blessed enough to get to see my parents and little sister, Larami, who is
a sophomore in high school, quite often. I graduated from a very small high
school, Fort Elliott, where there were only 13 students in my graduating class.
Coming from a small community has helped me in many numerous ways. Being from
such a small and close community has made me appreciate how important
relationships are with anyone and everyone. I still go back home today to
realize that almost everyone in the community has kept up and followed my
volleyball career here at WT and still are very interested in what I’m going to
school for and how I am doing. One of my weaknesses though is that sometimes I
can be very shy and not communicate very well. Being from a small town I
already knew everyone so didn’t really have to meet new people very often. Since
I’ve been at WT and on the volleyball team this has been addressed and I have
definitely had to work on my communication skills and not be so shy around new
people.
